For you to gain insight into some of your sub-conscious driving feelings, beliefs, motives and attitudes answer the following questions and make your sub-conscious conscious.

When driving……

1.       I just can’t trust ……

2.       Everyone pressurises me to ……

3.       I just don’t have enough ……

4.       Some-one’s always out to ……

5.       My greatest fear is ……

6.       I hate other drivers who ……

7.       I see a child standing up between the seats in a moving car I wish I could ……

8.       In heavy traffic I feel like ……

If I could I would:

1.       Make sure all taxi drivers ……

2.       Make all parents ……

3.       Make all school buses or bus drivers ……

4.       Make all traffic cops ……

5.       Make all the drivers in my country ……

6.       Get the government departments in charge of the roads to ……

7.       Require new drivers to ……

8.       Treat all drivers with ……

Once you have answered the questions ask yourself:

1.       Why did I answer each question in that way?

2.       What feelings or emotions did I feel when I answered the questions?

3.       How often do those feelings arise when I am driving and how do those feelings or emotions make me drive?

4.       Do my answers serve me and other road users or not?

5.       What is / are the consequences for me if I continue to feel or act in the way(s) I answered?

6.       What questions and responses do I want to change first?

7.       Was it really that difficult to make your sub-conscious conscious?

Emotions drive people, people drive cars.
